Leading Labour Party aspirant for the Anambra 2025 Governorship election, Mr. John Chuma Nwosu has given assurance of deploying hi-tech digital technology in addressing the security challenges plaguing Anambra State if elected into office.
Nwosu who spoke while addressing various stakeholders, ward excos and local government executives of the Labour party in Anambra Central in continuation of his local government consultative tour during the weekend, noted that as an Information Communication Technology (ICT) expert, he will bring his contacts and experience in line with global best practices towards addressing security lapses currently ravaging the state.
He said that with his experience in IT business spanning over 30 years and the Lagos model where his head office is located, he is best positioned to reposition Anambra to rank among the most secured state in Nigeria through the advancement of technology and deployment of seasoned experts in the field who will ensure that any security breach is nipped in the bud through round the clock surveillance, satellite monitoring and tracking that would send criminal entities packing from the state.
He reiterated that the passion to do things differently and fix various glaring gaps of the present administration was the main reason he decided to leave his comfort zone and offer himself for public service.
Nwosu said STEM education in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics will form the bulk of his education policy which will ensure that various youngsters in the state can be trained and positioned to benefit from various outsourcing opportunities of the American and European governments.
Earlier in the tour, renowned Diplomat, former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Anambra State and a former governorship candidate in the state, Oseloka Henry Obaze told the gathering that he is offering support for Nwosu’s governorship ambition with his full chest because Nwosu is a “gentleman, a good listener and a man of integrity” whose words can be trusted.
Obaze expressed regret that Anambra people are presently undergoing unlimited suffering because they are coerced with pestles and other dangerous weapons to pay revenue to government whether they like it or not while government has not fulfilled its own part of the social contract hence the reason for pushing for a change next year in Anambra state.
Places visited by Mr Nwosu on the consultative tour included Anaocha, Njikoka, Dunukofia. Isuaniocha in Awka North, Awka capital in Awka South, Ogidi in Idemili North and Ojoto in Idemili South LGA.
On the entourage also included Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Rtd. Chief Celestine Okoye, Former President General of Awka Town Union, Chief Emeka Anagor, Rt Hon. Ben Chuks Nwosu, Hon. Paschal Azubike among others.
