Chairman of Igwe's Cabinet Utuh Plans To Renovate Igwe's Palace As The Community Celebrated New yam festival

The chairman of Igwe's Cabinet Utuh in Nnewi South local government area of Anambra State, Chief Ikenna Okafor "Ebubechukwuzo" has assured the people of Utuh community that the Igwe's Palace would be renovated before the next year's New Yam festival.

Chief Okafor made the assurance while fielding questions from the journalist during the New yam festival held at the Igwe's Palace.

He noted that while the palace be renovating, some additional buildings would be added inside the palace so that it could look befitting like other Igwe's Palace, assuring the community before next year's New Yam festival, the palace would wear a new face.

Ebubechukwuzo however poured accolades to the people of Utuh for their unalloyed support for this year's successful New yam festival, even as he solicited them to join hands to ensure that Igwe's Palace is uplifted to the enviable height.

Expressing his gratitude to the community, the traditional ruler, His Royal Highness Igwe Peter Ilomuanya " Eze Onyeodili 2 of Utuh"  explained that New yam festival is annual ceremony which according to him a period to show appreciation to God for successful  farm plantation and bumper harvest, just as he pray God's guidance and Long life to all the people of Utuh.

He equally wishes the Utu community  well and asserted that everyone shall be alive to celebrate another New Yam festival ahead.

Commenting, the palace Secretary, Prince Okonna Mbanefo "Ichie Ifeabata   described New Yam festival as a period of celebrating new yam in Igbo land  as well as time everyone is free to eat New yam after Igwe has celebrated it.

He played God to bless    "Eze Onyeodili", protect him, grant him long life with good health as well as give him more wisdom to pilot the affairs of Utuh community.
