442 trainees to acquire skill acquisition in Anambra community

No fewer than 442 trainees in different professions will acquire skill acquisition as part of self reliant for youths and the unemployed in Obosi community, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State.

The acquisition project,which is an initiative of the President General, PG, of the community, Chief Chinedu Obi, to assist in curting crime and create employment in the community, has been described as one of the good things that have happened to the people in the area.

Speaking during a workshop/display of products manufactured by the trainees at Obosi town hall termed, " Mid way training", to showcase what the trainees have learnt from their master trainers, the PG stressed  the need for the rich and good spirited individuals to assist financially to help the trainees open up their own business after training.

"We appeal to the rich and others to assist in funding the trainees so that they can be able to establish their own business on completion of training. I was the one that set up the skill acquisition programme to empower people and curtail crime rate in Obosi.

"There is need to provide alternative when you ask people to deviate from crime and that is exactly what I have done by creating skill acquisition programme as the alternative means. There is evidence that the people we set up are doing very well through their products.

"These trainee are under their master trainers and we all know that the project is capital intensive but is meant free of charge to the trainees. Just fill the form we give to you and indicate the trade you want to learn and we hand you over to the master trainer" he explained.

Speaking, a resource person, Mrs Chito Onuzuruoke, State Director, Small and Medium Entrepreneur Development Nigeria, advised the trainees to always focus on what they were being trained upon if they want to come out as specialists in their field of training.

She frowned at the attitude of some trainees who never take their training serious adding that at the end of the day they could not be able to lay their hands on what they were trained because there was no focus.

She commended the master trainers and urged them not to relent in their efforts adding that the finished products displayed have shown that they really tried for the trainees.

Speaking, the President of anti cultism group in the community, Hon. Anyafuluobichukwu Zik, expressed satisfaction with the handiwork of the trainees adding that it showed they were serious even as he commended the PG, Obi, for the initiative to help curtail crime rate in Obosi.

"What is happening here today is good, it is good to support the trainees. Skill acquisition reduces unemployment for self reliant. After this set of trainees there will be another set. I will always assist them when ever called upon," he stated
