LAWYER TASK GOV. SOLUDO ON URGENT REVIEW OF OPERATIONAL TACTICS OF ANAMBRA ANTI-TOUTING, REVENUE AGENCIES

An Onitsha based lawyer and human right activist Mr. Thompson Chikezie has tasked Gov. Charles Soludo of Anambra State on the urgent need for him to rise up and review the operational tactics of Anambra State anti-touting and revenue agencies noting that their excesses on brutalization as well as their disregard for citizens fundamental rights is not giving Gov Soludo government good image considering the Governor’s Pedigree as an accomplished academician of repute.
Making this appeal while speaking to newsmen on the mode of operation of these two agencies on the backdrop of the recent brutalization of a widow at upper Iweka by Anambra anti-touting agency which has been taken up by Civil Liberty Organization (C.L.O), Chikezie stated that such development is condemnable, odious and unfortunate stressing that such happenings should be nipped to the bud as it portray the state government as been inhuman, insensitive to citizens welfare.
Saying that it is high time Gov. Soludo act to save the situation, He appealed to him to come up with a proper measure to monitor these agencies namely, Anti-touting, Ocha brigade, ATMA, all emblem, revenue collecting contractors etc so as to check their illicit activities which is barbaric and inhuman.
Said he, “Gov. Soludo should find a way to address this evil development, if possible am suggesting to him to post human right activists to these agencies who their duties will be to monitor every of their operation in respect of collection of revenues, IGR as well as other functions that involves these agencies with the citizens of the state to checkmate their excesses”.
