Hon. Idu Emeka Godwin, Member Representing Onitsha North and South Federal Constituency, attended the inaugural Legislative Open Week at the 10th House of Representatives, which took place from Wednesday, July 3 to Friday, July 5, 2024.
The theme of the retreat was "Improving Inclusion through Citizens Engagement".
The event was aimed to promote an open parliament and enhance citizens' participation, in alignment with Agenda 6 of the people's House Legislative Agenda.
Hon. Idu Emeka Godwin commemorated the 25th anniversary of uninterrupted democracy in Nigeria, stating that the Legislative Open Week provides a platform for reflection and forward planning.
On his last statement he said that, "The Open Week is a significant step towards strengthening our democracy by enhancing citizens participation in the legislative process.
